If you are like many others, your furnace is the last thing on your mind during day to day life…Our job is to keep it that way by providing you with a Furnace Maintenance that fits your specific needs.

Why is Furnace Maintenance Important?

Like any other machine, a furnace requires periodic maintenance to ensure that it is performing the way it was originally designed. When we perform maintenance on your system, we are looking to make sure it is running as efficiently, and safely as possible, while providing you with a forecast of potential issues that we can help you navigate and avoid. The bottom line: we want you to save money and stress in the long run, by being proactive with your system checkouts. The last thing we want is your heat to give out in the dead of winter.

What is involved in a Furnace Maintenance?

Some call it a “tune-up” other call it an “inspection”, but to us it all falls under the umbrella of a maintenance. During your maintenance appointment with Marr’s we will be doing the following items on our checklists to ensure your system is running at its best.

  • Verify proper airflow on the system
  • Change or clean filter
  • Verify thermostat operation
  • Clean the furnace
  • Inspect the heat exchanger for signs of corrosion and wear
  • Measure temperature rise from return to supply
  • Measure combustion efficiency using a combustion analyzer
  • Inspect and clean burners
  • Inspect and clean flame sensor
  • Measure igniter resistance
  • Verify all safety switches are functioning as designed
  • Adjust gas pressure for proper combustion and air temperature rise
  • Measure and verify all electrical components on the system
  • Inspect all electrical connections and metallic joinery for corrosion
  • Provide our customers with a comprehensive multi-point inspection report
